Gauge use cases

Custom gauges allow real-time monitoring of specific metrics unique to a game. Tracking these values throughout a player’s session provides you with visualizations of player data. Using them as game-specific metrics allows you to tailor gauges to your needs that may not fit within regular (like country or platform) attribute card parameters. Below are examples of ways to customize your gauges for maximum value.

Session performance & metric tracking

  • Performance correlation: Monitor memory usage alongside graphics quality settings across a session to evaluate how visual adjustments impact gameplay stability.
  • Level-specific debugging: Identify performance degradation on specific levels or environments for players with otherwise high FPS and low setting profiles.
  • Monitor dynamic gameplay states: Observe changes in health, active currency, and resource depletion rates over extended play sessions

Player classification & localization

  • Segment by class & client version: Isolate cohort metrics by filtering for specific game character classes or client versions to check balance and patch adoption.
  • Guide localization: Use active language preference gauges to measure regional audience sizes and identify needs in expanding language support.
